Surespan Flush Standard Single Leaf Access Covers
Manufactured in aluminium or stainless steel.
The range is available with pedestrian rating and up to F900, and in all shapes and sizes with a variety of finishes including polyester powder coating.
Access covers are guaranteed for 5 years and the grade 316 stainless steel springs are guaranteed for the life of the cover.
Options include safety grilles, louvre vents, locking boxes, open mesh aluminium covers, pneumatic operation, retractable hinges, tee locks, electrical interlock, stainless steel slam locks, cam locks, hold open stays, retractable handholds, drainage connector, wind restrainers and viewing windows.
Covers can be manufactured to provide up to 3 hours fire resistance for integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987.
Surespan covers can also be provided with sound reduction of up to 45dB, measured in accordance with ISO 140-3: 1995 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1: 1997.
Surespan covers can also be provided with a high level of thermal insulation up to 0.43 W/m²K, to BS 3958: Part 5: 1986. Lower values can be achieved if required.

Surespan Recessed Access Covers
Manufactured in aluminium or stainless steel.
The range is available with pedestrian rating and up to C250, and in all shapes and sizes.
The pan type lid is recessed 3mm - 40mm subject to the weight of the infill. The lid is held shut by removable bolts or a heavy-duty stainless steel cab lock and in the interest of safety is capable of opening from both sides.
The lid will have the provision to lock in the open position with a safety hold open stay to prevent against accidental closure.
The cover includes grade 316 stainless steel gas spring assistance. This is essential where weights of the unassisted covers exceed the recommendation of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, which implement the European Directive 90/269/EEC.
The patent marine alloy frame with unique hidden hinge incorporates an EPDM unbroken seal to help prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture. Any water passing the seals will be dispersed via an integral drainage channel, which is fitted with an optional internal or external tailpiece adaptor for use with a 10mm bore tube.
Units can be manufactured to provide up to 2 hours fire resistance for integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987.

Surespan Upstand Access Covers
RSI aluminium single and double leaf upstand access covers are rated at 2.5 or 5kN/m² loading. The covers are not suitable for traffic areas.
The patented marine alloy frame incorporates a single or double unbroken EPDM seal to prevent ingress of dirt and moisture.
Vented, insulated and airtight options are available.
The cover lids are operated by grade 316 stainless steel gas springs and lock in the open position with safety hold open stays.
A stainless steel slam action cab lock is fitted as standard, which is readily opened from the inside and key operated externally.
Other locking provisions can be supplied, including locking boxes and electrical interlock.
Covers can be ventilated with removable and washable stainless steel micromesh vent inserts.
Covers can also be provided with a high level of thermal insulation up to 0.43 W/m²K, to BS 3958: Part 5: 1986. Lower values can be achieved if required offering high levels of thermal insulation against heat loss and condensation.
Surespan covers can also be provided with sound reduction of up to 45dB, measured in accordance with ISO 140-3: 1995 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1: 1997. Fire rated covers are available in the range, rated up to 3 hours fire resistance for integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987.
Other options include a shrouded padlock to prevent interference with the lock, locking boxes fitted with proximity switches, cam locks for gas/air tight covers.
All bolts and fittings are grade A4 stainless steel.
Covers are designed for single person operation and comply with the Manual Handling Operation Regulations 1992.
