A range of roof access hatches with various modes of operation, including gas springs, 24V electric motors and pneumatics.

A range of ceiling hatches and frames, prepared for various finishes also available with 1 hour fire rating.
Jakdor Wall Access Doors
Wall access panels prepared for plaster or tile finishes, or with plain, flush, metal doors. Also available with 1 or 2 hour fire rating.
Zip Ladder ZIP8
A ceiling access hatch complete with retractable loft ladder.

SRH Roof Hatches
The roof mounted access hatches are of double skinned, insulated construction and available polyester powder coated to any standard RAL colour.
Operation can be by gas springs or 24V electric motors or pneumatics.
Surespan hatches can also be provided with a high level of thermal insulation up to 0.43 W/m²K, to BS 3958: Part 5: 1986. Lower values can be achieved if required.
Surespan hatches can also be provided with sound reduction of up to 45dB, measured in accordance with ISO 140-3: 1995 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1:1997.
Access hatches can be fire rated for up to 3 hours fire resistance for integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987.
Hatches are available in single and double leaf versions and can be glazed to any specification, prepared as smoke and ventilation hatches.
They can be fitted with safety grills and ladder access, handrails, a choice of ironmongery and various locking configurations including internal locking, external locking or both.
Hatch upstands are normally 200 mm and incorporate a roof membrane skirt. Surespan can provide upstands to any height, including raked profiles and with louvred panels.
Standard roof hatches include:
SRH – Standard Roof Hatch with Gas Spring opening system
Closing options include manual closing or hand winch closing. Slam cablock and handle for inside opening. Opening from inside or outside and both sides, key operated deadlock, hasp and staple or hand winch closing.
SRHEI – Electromagnetic Smoke Ventilator with Instant Gas Spring Opening.
Closing options include manual closing or hand winch closing. The electromagnetic lock operates via a switch, fire alarm or building management system. A mains supplied control box with 24v DC transformer, battery back up system is available. Opening options include wall mounted push button, key switch, fireman's switch, break glass, smoke detector, remote control, ionisation optical smoke detector, 10°-30° thermostat, rain detector and water detection alarm.
SRHEP – Electrical / Pneumatic Operated Roof Hatch
Electrical option: Opening and closing via a 24v DC actuator operated by a switch, fire alarm or building management system. A mains supplied control box with 24v DC transformer, battery back up system is available. Opening options include wall mounted push button. key switch, fireman's switch, break glass, smoke detector, remote control, ionisation optical smoke detector, 10°-30° thermostat, rain detector and water detection alarm.
Pneumatic option: Opening and closing via a pneumatic cylinder. With soleniod valve and compressor as options.
Acoustic performance: 45dB measured in accordance with ISO 140-3: 1995 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1: 1997.
Insulation: Up to U-Value 0.43 W/m2K. In accordance with BS 3958: Part 5: 1986.
Lower insulation values can be provided on request.
Fire resistance: Available up to 3 hours integrity in accordance with BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987.

Jakdor Ceiling Access Doors
Surespan Ltd manufacture three types of ceiling access doors as standard.
Type CAD.A
A combined plasterboard-clad door with concealed perforated frame for use in skimmed plaster ceilings.
Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door has a sliding pin hinge and is secured using a standard budget lock.
One-hour fire rated versions have a fire resistant board and sliding pin hinge. Integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987. Add suffix FR60 to reference.
Type CAD.B
A combined flush metal door and concealed perforated frame for use in skimmed plaster ceilings.
Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door has a sliding pin hinge and is secured using a standard budget lock.
One-hour fire rated versions have smoke seal strips and a continuous metal hinge. Integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987. Add suffix FR60 to reference.
Type CAD B2 Budget Version
A budget ceiling access door, manufactured from 1.0mm Zintec Steel.
The door is secured with a chrome slotted cam lock, which can be opened using a coin or screwdriver.
Available in standard sizes only up to a maximum 600 x 600mm – Non-fire rated.
Type CAD.C
A combined flush metal door with 25mm picture frame surround.
Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door has a sliding pin hinge and is secured using a standard budget lock.

Jakdor Wall Access Panels
Designed to fit into any type of wall system, the frame surround enables the panel to be inserted directly into a clear structural opening and screw-fixed into position.
A range of four options is available:
Type WAP.A
A combined plasterboard-clad door and concealed perforated frame for use in skimmed plaster walls. Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door has a sliding pin hinge and is secured using a three-way locking system.
Frame depth is 100mm reducing to 75mm on panels under 600 x 600mm.
Type WAP.B
A combined flush metal door and concealed perforated frame for use in skimmed plaster walls.
Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door has a continuous metal hinge and is secured using a standard budget lock.
One-hour/ two hour fire rated versions have smoke seal strips and a continuous metal hinge. Integrity to BS 476: Parts 21 and 22: 1987. Add suffix FR60/ FR120 to reference.
Type WAP.B2 Budget Version
A budget wall access door, manufactured from 1.0mm Zintec Steel.

Type WAP.D
A tile-faced wall access door and frame for use with face fixed ceramic tiles up to 10mm thick.
Doors are designed to be concealed, and to match the surrounding tile finishes.
The gap around the door matching the grout, simulated grout or silicon sealant can be supplied on request.
A quick release hinge allows removal of the door to provide maximum access and eliminate contact between the edges of the tiles.
Doors and frames are manufactured from 1.2mm and 1.0mm Zintec Steel, with polyester powder coating, matt white RAL 9010 20% gloss.
The removable door is secured using a budget lock.
The standard version is supplied with a stainless steel collar.
Frame depth is 80mm.
