SRH Roof Hatches

SRH Roof Hatches Surespan SRH single or double leaf roof hatches are manufactured in aluminium with an optional polyester powder coated finish. Each SRH is insulated against heat loss and condensation to maintain the thermal integrity of the building. Weighted sound reductions can also be incorporated.

The gas spring assisted opening lid is supported by heavy-duty aluminium hinges and features an integral 'wrap over' edge, incorporating double unbroken EPDM seals. The upstand has a purpose made flashing to accept the roof felt to make it weatherproof. The hatch also incorporates a safety hold open stay to prevent against accidental closure. Various locking options are available.

- Offering a U-Value of either 0.43W/m²k or 0.78W/m²k.

- GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 3.

- ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) of 0.

SRH/ES Roof Hatch with Extended Skirt

SRH Roof Hatches can be manufactured with an extended skirt liner. The extended skirt liner can be used on any type of roof and can be provided as a completely assembled unit. This unit comprises of an SRH roof hatch, extended skirt liner, wall mounted rungs, vertical fixed grab rail and a ZIP retractable ladder.

For metal deck roof applications the extended skirt liner gives an attractive look to unsightly metal edging. In general circumstances it gives a lining to the inside of the aperture.

The JAKDOR ceiling access door is to be fitted once the unit has been fully installed.

Thermally Broken Extruded Sections

All Surespan SRH Roof Hatches are available using thermally broken extruded sections, offering clients excellent energy conservation properties and substantially reducing internal condensation or frost formation.

This in turn reduces thermal conductivity and consequently the heat loss due to heat conduction through the roof hatch frame.

This can also be applied to Surespan's SRHG Roof Hatches .

Solar Powered Roof Hatches

All Surespan electrically operated roof hatches are available using solar technology, offering clients an environmentally friendly alternative.

A 12V solar panel is fitted either onto or nearby the roof hatch, harnessing solar energy to charge it's batteries and allowing the hatch to automatically open and close using a completely wireless system. This can be operated by either a wireless switch or remote control. It's batteries are fitted with a conditioned monitoring feature which sounds an alarm if they are running low or indicate a fault.

Additional options including being linked up to the building's Fire Alarm System (FAS) or Building Management System (BMS) are available. Multiple roof hatches can be operated by one solar panel.

This technology can also be applied to Surespan's SRHG glazed roof hatches.

Sureguard System

Available with built-on handrail for added safety. Surespans Sureguard System provides a permanent 3 sided built on handrail with gate for added safety for the roof hatch. Polyester powder coating available.

Sureclip

SRH Roof Hatches can be manufactured to include a safety clip which enables the safety grid to be raised and lowered with ease. The clip allows the safety grid to open with the roof hatch making access through easier. Once through the hatch, release the clip to free the safety grid and lower to protect from falling.

Handle and Cord Lid Closing

SRH Roof Hatches can be manufactured to enable the lid to open seperately to the safety grid. In this instance when exiting the roof hatch and closing the safety grid, there needs to be a means of manually closing the lid.

The handle and cord is connected to the lid of the hatch and easily fits between the safety grid to enable the lid to be closed with ease.

Pulley System - Release from below only

Surespans SRH Roof Hatches can be manufactured to include a pulley system which enables the hatch to be opened from below.

Using the pull handle to engage the pulley system, releases the catch and allow the gas springs to fully open the hatch lid.

Alternative operations including key switch and push button electrically operated are available.
