Ventilation Options

Surespan ventilators are designed to provide both integral roof access as well as to provide a means of smoke ventilation in the case of a fire. Helping to control the spread of fire by removing smoke, harmful gases and heat from a burning building.

Single or double leaf and made to any size required.

Available with a glazed option and with various accessories: switches and smoke/rain detectors.

Smoke Ventilators

SRHE Smoke Ventilators are operated by a heavy-duty 24v electromagnetic solenoid switch or a 24v DC actuator working together with the pneumatic gas springs to open the double skinned aluminium lid. The ventilator is designed to be wired directly into the FAS (Fire Alarm System) or the BMS (Building Management System), which is supplied by others.

The Smoke Ventilator is offered with a control box inlcluding; transformer, battery charger and battery back up system to cover in the case of an emergency power cut. An SRHGE glazed option is also available.

140° Smoke Vent Opening

Surespan Smoke Ventilators are available with as 140° opening. To meet approved document B, BS9999 and European Standards enshrined in EN12101.

A well known weakness of natural ventilation is that fire smoke tends to enter the escape or entry routes before leaving the building.

Surespans 140° Smoke Vent is designed to stay open at a 140 degree angle to ensure that smoke, harmful gases and heat are diverted away from the opening and cannot be blown back into the building by wind.

For our product to meet EN12101 regulations, we ensure the cover opens to its fully open position within 60 seconds of activation, in order to disperse smoke away from the building as quickly as possible.

Louvered Hatch

Surespan can provide access hatches and automatic ventilated access hatches with louvered panels on all four sides, built into their curb. Designed for areas that require continous ventilation and access to above. Incorporating an unbroken EPDM seal to help prevent the ingress or rainwater, animals and insects.

Louvered Hatches are available with a tread plate pattern lid and with optional features such as safety grid/ladder extension. Surespan offer the options of both mill finish/self-colour and polyester powder coating to any standard RAL colour to match with building surroundings.

Penthouse Louvres

Penthouse Louvres are designed for situations where roof inlet and exhaust terminals are required. Offering weather protection for the supply or extraction of air.

SRD Smoke Release Dampers

SRD Dampers include a fully enclosed and sealed drive mechanism which operates the blades. The blades are fitted with rubber tip seals. The dampers are available in a full range of sizes, rectangular, spigot, circular and oval types. Tested to withstand high temperatures.

Dampers can be wired to a control panel, enabling the Fire Officer, in the event of a fire, to control the smoke exhaust of individual floors.

FBL Fixed Blade Louvres

FBL Fixed Blade Louvres are weather proof louvres suitable for ventilating plant/boiler rooms and also providing an effective terminal for supply and extracting ducting. The 45 degree slope to the 50mm pitched blade ensures a 64% free area.

The Fixed Blade Louvre is available in single unit size or continuous panels of unlimited length. Vermin/Bird guards are fitted as standard, with insect screen being an optional addition.
